The Races :

Time to Visit : November - March

There’s nothing quite like a day at the races and Cheltenham is world class. Whether you’re here to watch the famous Gold Cup or a slightly quieter afternoon with less crowds, there’s six weekends between October and March to choose from (November’s our favourite).

The Retreat offers a racing breakfast over each race weekend and is ready to welcome you back for drinks afterwards.

If you prefer to soak up the atmosphere but not venture up to the course we also show racing on live TV throughout the day alongside our lunch service.

Throughout the year Cheltenham plays host to four cultural festivals attracting world class performers, academics and authors. Walking and Sightseeing

Cheltenham is a great base for taking in everything that the Cotswolds has to offer. Rail and bus services from both the South East and North run on a regular basis making it easy to get to. From Cheltenham you can make a variety of day trips to different towns and attractions across the region. With the Cotswold Way running across the top of Cheltenham from Cleeve Hill to Leckhampton, there are great walks right on your doorstep and the wider countryside just a few moments away. All this whilst also having the shops and restaurants around to enjoy makes a great day out!

Check out the Cotswold Tourist Board website for more information on local walks.
